Description

Zweilanzettiges Masswerkfenster mit Rautenverglasung. Die Fensterfläche ist mit einem Grisaille-Blattmuster dekoriert, die farbige Randverzierung weist ebenfalls ein stilisiertes Blattmotiv auf (identisch mit SW II). Masswerk mit bunten Blatt- und Blumendarstellungen.

Research

Die katholische Kirche St. Mauritius in Sommeri (bis 2019 paritätisch genutzt), ist mit diversen Glasmalereien aus der Zeit von 1887 bis 1908 ausgestattet.
Das Ornamentfenster ist eines der beiden Fenster in der Westfassade, die 1903 mit Glasmalereien versehen wurden, um die Orgel, bzw. deren Gehäuse vor Sonneneinstrahlung zu schützen. Entworfen und hergestellt wurden die Fenster von Karl Holenstein für je 120 Franken (Katholisches Kirchgemeindearchiv Sommeri, B12.03.05A Parit. Kirchenvorsteherschaft Sommeri Sitzungsprotokolle 1835-1935, S. 194, 198).
Die übrigen Fenster der Kirche stammen von 1887/88, 1903/04 und 1908. Unklar ist einzig die Datierung des zentralen Fensters im Chor.
