Description

Im Hauptbild ist ein Bauernhof im Ackerland dargestellt. Vor dem Gehöft sitzt eine Bäuerin in rotem Rock am Spinnrad neben ihrem in der Wiege liegenden Kind. In ihrer Rechten hält sie einen Becher mit dem Willkommtrunk, den sie ihrem Gatten anbietet. Mit der Axt und einem Zaunholz geschultert, findet sich dieser vor seiner Gemahlin ein, während im Hintergrund ein junger Mann mit der Errichtung des Zaunes beschäftigt ist. Die Darstellung rahmen seitlich Balustersäulen in Rot und Blau. Darüber spannt sich ein durch Flickstücke verunstaltetes rotes Gebälk. Das zweigeteilte Oberbild zeigt links eine Bäuerin in der Käseküche beim Bearbeiten der Milch (dazu ausführlich Haldi 1971) und rechts einen Bauern beim Melken seiner Kühe. Die Stifterinschrift ist unten am hellblauen Sockel festgehalten.

Mehrere alte Flickstücke (im Gebälk sowie an den Rändern oben in der Mitte und unten in den Ecken); die Gläser stark verrostet; zahlreiche Sprungbleie und mehrere Sprünge.

Technique

Farbloses und farbiges Glas; rotes Überfangglas mit rückseitigem Ausschliff; Bemalung mit Schwarzlot und Silbergelb.

Research

Der Stifter, über den nichts Näheres bekannt ist, entstammte der Familie Aellen aus Saanen.
